Review: Good price, nice ride - I installed these today on my 2004 Chevy Tahoe ls, Along with New Monroe reflex shocks and I'm very happy with the ride. They fit nice, a little harder getting the new ones installed than removing the old, but nothing difficult. I was worried the ride would be too stiff sense these are considered heavy duty but it still rides nice just a little more stable.
Review: Heavy Duty Rear Coil Spring for Tahoe and Suburban/Yukon - This spring is the equivalent of the one used on the Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon "Z71" packages. This gives you about and extra 1” lift from a measurement standpoint on a suburban. To my knowledge this is the only Heavy Duty spring you can get without getting into increased suspension lift. Air bags are another option if you want to deal with it. The LS, LT and other models use a softer spring that is a bit wider in the coil configuration and less coils overall. This 81609 has a tighter coil package and the steel coil is thicker, I want to say the standard coil is 5/8 and this one is 3/4 . A tahoe/trailblazer website discussion forum has details/pics on it if you wish to search the web for further details. Install is pretty simple on a suburban, disconnect lower shock bolt and sway bar bolt holding axle. Jack frame of vehicle up high enough to pull old spring out and insert the new spring. Reverse order of putting everything back together… Keep an eye on the rubber brake lines while you jack up the vehicle that you don’t put too much tension on them that they rip apart. They will get tight so be careful on how high you raise the vehicle during this process. If you don’t know what I’m talking about go somewhere and have it done for you. I'm not liable for the instructions I'm providing. Comfort of ride did not change in my vehicle,, maybe not as of a spongy ride,, but really hard to feel any difference. Definitely did not provide a harsh ride afterwards. My use was for mainly for towing so I wanted the ride height of the vehicle to hold the trailer tongue weight better than the stock softer coils.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I have a 2004 h2. I want moog compatible for rear. Will these work on the chassis?**
A: Absolutely, just installed these on my 2008 H2. Maintained the factory ride height much to my chagrin as I wanted to lower the rear a tad to gain clearance to enter my garage while still running the factory roof racks.

**Q: What is the difficulty rate on putting these springs on a 2003 chevy tahoe 4x4?**
A: Lift the rear at the frame on both sides until the tires hang, put floor jack under rear diff, remove tires, lower shock mounts, and lower swaybar mounts. Lower jack under rear diff and springs should slip on out without any issues.
I was able to put in new springs and 1 inch spacers on my '03 z71 Tahoe without the need of a spring compressor.
If you have any difficulty, put another floor jack under one side of your diff and lift it a little. This will cause the other side to drop a little more.
Make sure your springs are seated straight before jacking up center of your diff to reinstall shock and swaybar mounts.
Also recommend getting new spring isolators.

**Q: 2007 tahoe ltz. can these springs make my truck level if i have bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks in the front or will the rear be higher?**
A: Thank you for the question. The Moog 81069 is cataloged as a heavy duty replacement spring for this application. It may bring the ride height up slightly from the factory replacement spring.

**Q: Does this fit 09 gmc acadia slt rear?**
A: Don't believe so, Acadia built on a diff frame design. These are for tahoes and suburbans

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Replacement Springs
*by D***. on March 20, 2026*

Great replacement on my 2002 Suburban for switching out the auto-leveling air ride rear suspension. The ride height increased slightly but was easily leveled out by correction the torsion beam in the front. This is the way to go instead of messing with the costly air ride on these older Chevrolet/GMC Tahoes/Suburbans/Yukons.
