Fantastic turntable
Amazing turntable. Sounds great and looks good, feels premium. Fully manual with counterweight which was a nice upgrade from the lp60x. Instructions to set up were difficult to follow as a person who prefers visuals but nothing YouTube couldn’t solve. 10/10 would recommend.

This Is A Great Turntable!
I like my music a lot. Not quite to nerd level but pretty intense nonetheless! I did a fair bit of research before buying this turntable. I did my online research and asked music loving friends what turntables they had. A recurring answer was "I've got an Audio Technica." These were people whose opinions I trusted.I've bought the LP120 XUSB in black. I've had it for about two weeks and I absolutely love it.The fact that is has a pre-amp built in is a big plus. It means that you don't have to buy more expensive kit to play your records. I connected my turntable up to my old midi-hifi, which is just a CD player with AM/FM tuner with speakers. The red and white cables just plug into the turntable sockets and that's the connection sorted! The stylus is simple to affix, it just screws into the needle arm.Balancing the tone arm is the hardest of the tasks required to set it up. It's still simple to do though, especially if you follow the Audio Technica video for this process which is on YouTube. The whole body of the unit is metal and the turntable is a weighty piece of steel. The unit is well made and is of good quality.Playing records is simple. You just line up the needle over the grooves, lower the arm and away you go. The tone arm is manual and not automatic, meaning at the end of the record you need to return the tone arm to its' rest yourself. The sound quality obviously depends on the quality of your speakers. Mine are reasonably average and not at all specialist. However, the sound is immense! The tones are rich, the bass is deep and the overall sound is crisp. There is barely any vinyl crackle.I've converted a couple of albums to mp3 using the supplied USB cable. It is very simple. I am using a Mac with GarageBand as the platform that I record to. (Audacity is also a perfectly good platform to use too.)The quality of the recordings is excellent and now, albums that I've had for years that I only had on record, can be listened to in my car!Don't hesitate if you are thinking of buying this turntable. It is a lot of quality for the price and it compares favourably with more expensive turntables with similar features.

Really good turntable for the price, better than the generic options, might not be for DJ-ing
I'm more of a casual vinyl user, but that doesn't mean I want to pay almost nothing for a terrible sounding rebranded suitcase turntable (that all use the same cheap mechanism) nor do I want to want to pay Technics 1200 money (I do have a 1200 mk2 in another room, but I digress). I think this Audio-Technica turntable is the right balance of price to performance. It's pretty straightforward to set up. I attached it to my Denon mini-hifi and after some basic stylus calibration it sounds great. It also has a built in pre-amp if that's something that you require. The main body shell is plastic but the unit is quite weighty so that helps to reduce unwanted rumble. The unit comes with a basic felt mat which works fine, but you might also want to get a rubber mat to also help with reducing unwanted noise. While it is a direct-drive turntable, the torque on it isn't very high. So if you DJ or like to move the record a lot you might have to give the record a bit of a push after you've held it so the motor can re-engage and the torque can build up. If I hold the record hard enough the motor will stop. Maybe you can use a super-slippery slipmat (I've tried, and it kind of works) but, if you still want to DJ on the Audio-Technica brand you may be better off getting the LP140XP instead which costs a bit more but has a high torque motor (no pre-amp, though). If, however you just want to play records on a good value turntable that doesn't look and sound like old luggage then this might be for you (and if you don't need a big and bulky direct drive turntable then maybe Audio-Technica's belt driven turntables are worth considering).

Lovely sound, sturdy build, easy set-up, line and phono connection
A lovely looking turntable and feels very sturdy.Basic pictorial instructions with a tutorial video make it really easy to set up (I also used a stylus scale to fine tune the needle weighting but the onboard adjusters and instructions do a pretty good job).Switchable line/phono connectivity for flexibility - I currently have it connected to a pair of Elimavi active speakers through line out RCA and sound is great. I will be hooking up to a TEAC amp and passives at some point so look forward to seeing any difference.I was going to go for one of the Audio Technica fully auto turntables but figured I need to be at the platter to put records on and off so decided I did not need the auto functions and went for this instead.I am in my early 60s now and wanted to resurrect my vinyl habit and make it suitable for my 60+ year old ears (with hearing aids!) and this does the trick and sounds great.Does not have bluetooth which is fine - not sure why I would want that when I am after an analogue listening experience plus I have enough ways of listening to digital music which will eventually all go through a TEAC amp anyway.Very happy with this.

Audio Technica LP120 Turntable
A real piece of quality from getting it out of the box to the set only tricky part was getting the tone arm level when you crack that your flying. Starting with the weight of the turntable you know it ain’t cheap good sturdy heavy piece of quality even the head shell looks expensive all the buttons are big and bold so you know what your operating what I like most is when using the tonearm lifter after your ready to lower it on to the vinyl it slowly drops nice and easy no big heavy drop and its a great sound through a Panasonic mini Hifi it looks great and while it seems a bit expensive believe me it’s pure quality and class makes every penny spent on it worth while well pleased it hasn’t cooled since it was set up 10 out of 10.
