Heavy material, so much so that I was concerned I wouldn’t be able to bend it so only ordered one box to start. I’m a 68 year old female. I was able to bend it with the weight of my foot while pulling on the ends. I was able to create nice gentle curves around my garden beds. I ordered the 6 “ wide option. The metal is thick and substantial and has nice rolled top so it won’t cut anybody/pet. I pounded it in as directed along the top with a sledge hammer on a piece of wood to prevent denting the top edge. It has nice cut out edges so the joiner stake flows with the contour of the top. I had my son cut one piece to fit with metal blade circular saw. Piece of cake. It’s already staring to patina/rust which looks very cool. I hesitated to buy because of the cost but other products I found were flimsy and not worth the money. This stuff I’m sure will hold up for a long time. We are wanting to create a barrier between our lawn and a neighbors.** A: Depending on the amount of stone or any other subsoil obstacles present, it can be. I used mine to separate lawn from a river-stone paved planting bed, to prevent out-migration of stones and encroachment of grass. To crib the stone, I left an inch of steel above ground level. I could have pounded it into the ground to ground level if all I wanted was to stop grass growth. You may wish to edge the border with a flat spade first to speed up the installation. You would want to be sure there are no underground fixtures--wiring or irrigation hose or piping. This is steel, and it is relatively sharp at the edges (thick leather gloves at all times while handling!) It is possible to trim the length if you need with a hacksaw and patience. **Q: It states these are 8 in depth. Is that 8 inches to the point of the tooth, or the valley?** A: The tooth. From the top of the spine to the end of the tooth is 8 inches. **Q: Is this the widest size you guys offer? I really could use a 10" (2" wider) version.** A: We don't currently have any plans to offer a wider version. However, EdgeRight holds in the ground so well you can have as little as 2 inches in the ground if you would like more showing above ground. **Q: Is it possible to overlap the pieces if the last piece used is longer than needed?
