This is a heavy duty stud mount that will fit through a standard 3/8" hole just like a regular stud mount. The plastic washer/insulator is oversized to help spread out weight, but protruding portion of it that is supposed to stick into the hole in your mount is still 3/8", so you don't have to buy any special brackets or drill a larger hole for this to fit. The female SO-239 connector on bottom is keyed for an allen wrench that comes included with the product so that when paired with a wrench on the top portion, can be used to really crank down on and tighten the stud to make sure it doesn't work loose. It did not come with a locking washer of any kind, but seeing as how tight I should be able to get this, that shouldn't be a problem.All that being said, the unit appeared used upon arrival. Mine was shipped from "Advanced Specialities Inc." There was some obvious cosmetic damage and dirt on the outside of the unit (not just dust, actual dirt that I had to pick off with my fingernail), the plastic insulator is a little faded and dirty and there's all sorts of dings on the exterior of the metal. Functionally it's just fine and will do what I wanted it to do; I tested it with my multimeter and there's no short between the center conductor and shield, and there's no damage so severe that it would affect the durability or intended purpose of the product, and I plan on cleaning it off with some high concentration rubbing alcohol and putting it together with some dielectric grease to keep water out, but it appears as if the unit was taken out, used, returned, re-sealed and re-sold. Some of the marks are machining marks where the flat sides of the upper portion was cut for a wrench to fit, but there's several user inflicted wear marks as well. I'm not sure if this was the fault of Advanced Specialties Inc. or ProComm since the unit was in a sealed plastic baggie upon arrival.For the price that I paid, I can't really complain. The product itself is outstanding and in the time I've been using it hasn't offered to flex the slightest bit where standard studs would flex the metal on the bed of my truck. Combined with a 6 inch spring it does a great job of giving a solid foundation to my 102 inch whip. However, it's a little bit dis-heartening to order something and get a used/refurbished version when you were expecting a brand new one. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best Ever! *by H***R on July 11, 2024* Best 3/8” mount ever!
