What is the diameter of this candle?

This is not a taper. Generally straight sided although there is a very slight taper. I measured the straight section of one and its roughly 0.85" towards the top and 0.87" about an inch above the base. The base (roughly the last inch or so) then tapers down to roughly 0.75". Also, I have found these candles to be dripless and smokeless Also, unlike other some other candles I have tried, the ivory color is through and through, not just a thin exterior coating around a white interior.

i need this to fit in a 1.06 candle stick opening. Will this candle fit?

It will be a loose fit because the diameter of the base is less than an inch. However, the candles are phenomenal with very little if any dripping -- unless of course you set them in front of an open window.
