But only the top coat to protect the nail polish and shine if using regular nail color. If using gel nail polish use base first, gel color and then top coat. **Q: What do you use to take it off?** A: Both, soak off with acetone on cotton balls or use a hand or electric file. I like to go at the top layer with my efile or hand file to get some off. Then I take cotton balls soaked with acetone, put on nail and cover with foil or clips, silicone nail cover removers, and let soak for 10-15 mins until the polish gets gooey then push it off with nail spatula or tool. Or go back to soaking more. I dont like to put my whole finger or toe in the acetone/nail polish remover because it irratated my cuticles and skin. They sell these finger nail clips or these silicone finger tips things (see pic/video), especially made to soak off polish w cotton, at the dollar stores/Dollar Tree.
