Pretty damn good despite initial struggles
Pretty good sound quality and overall quality of the unit. My main problems with it were regarding fitment - the back of the unit was protruding well into the base of the helmet (gt-air) even when using the small clamp and when putting on and especially pulling the helmet off - the plastic unit would stab me in the neck (not a pleasant experience). I did muscle the clamp as far back as possible and now this initial problem is pretty much non-existant. The other fitment issue I had was regarding the placement of the speakers, which I think most people will have as well - this is my first Comms systems I not sure if expected, but the speakers need to be exactly against your ears for the best experience and that did take a few attempts to achieve. Sound quality is amazing - I always wear earplugs and I can listen to music even at motorway speeds. Calls are quite good as well - talking while in city happens without a fuss, the person on the other side can also hear me clearly (have not tried on motorway, but I expect the wind noise to be a bit of a problem).

Great product (kinda)
Overall I am impressed with the cardo pactalk slim JBL edition, compared to other speaker systems for motorbike helmets this has an unreal sound quality, it doesn't ring and buzz at all which is fantastic. The speakers themselves don't impact my ability to put on the helmet either when I wear a balaklava. If I don't it tends to roll the ears a bit but it can be easily rectified with a bit of a twisting motion to pull the ears loose. As for the quality, it doesn't fidget, the tight fit into the helmet is really good. It sits flush to the bottom left rim and the battery is at the back attached in a similar fashion so no issues there. The mesh network communication is clear and long. Moment you have too many bends between you and the other rider though you tend to lose a bit of connectivity, however it automatically comes back when they get in range again. On the straight you can easily get about 800m range which is fantastic. Where I found the issues was with the charge port. After charging the unit about 10 times the charge port came loose and the unit stopped charging. I tried again with a different charger and the port came out completely, seeing the inside of it, the port seems to be attached by very little solder, so if your charger doesn't go in and out smoothly you may find yourself with the same issue. As a workaround I have put in a magnetic charger and I simply leave it in. I am also very careful on pulling out the cable. Amazon have sent a replacement and haven't had issues since. But fantastic unit for sound quality.

Best of the bunch
I am really pleased with this purchase. my mate and I can chat to each other while riding and the voice recognition is great (if a bit limited). I can also use Google assistance (Hey Google) so really helps while riding. Satnav voice and even music (on motorways) works well even with ear plugs in. There are loads of cheaper alternatives but as they say "buy cheap, buy twice". I have tried to connect to cheaper ones but they drop out and are frustrating, especially while you have all your kit on. This was also the best price I could find online so 10/10 for the seller.

Fantastic intercom unit! Must buy!
Amazing product! Voice control is fantastic and allows you to keep both hands on the handle bars. Sound quality is great with the JBL speakers and the unit is very good at setting music to the background while your using the intercom at the same time. It’s a great size, very little windnoise due to how tight it sits to the side of the helmet. Very easy to use and the app is very straightforward. Overall fantastic product.

Good product, does its job, but not worth money paid
I used this item for a week and have to say that as a technology it did its job. Overall I was satisfied maybe I'm being biased because of the scenic views I've seen in Swiss Alps. These are the good things I have to highlight about Cardo: - 10 hours plus of non stop speaking (no turning off) - quick charging - waterproof for sure (three hours under the non stop rain) - radio wave range is pretty impressive, it can easily reach another rider even if it's 500m in between you on the straight line but when you are amidst mountains 100-200 meter max. These are the bad things I found about it: - it's too smart (tries to switch to DMC mode all the time) it's annoying when you keep the phone in the back pack and you cannot hear the rider and you have to stop and fix it. - built quality - I'm surprised how this item can be waterproof, because, rubber plug for USB socket never stays snug inside the socket, small touch and it falls out. Other parts like speakers and mic are rubbish. - software isn't good (upgrades aren't easy and straightforward it took quite a long time to upgrade it on my laptop, online website isn't easy and looks from 90s, it's hard to find information you need, UX of mobile app could have been better). The last pain point for me was the fact that on the fourth day riding it refused to connect with another cardo item and I couldn't do any types of resets, event factory reset. I downloaded manual tried a few times still didn't work. Weighting all pros and cons above I realised paying £280 isn't worth it. You know if you want to get a decent quality radio your choice is going to be either Sena or Cardo. I get that, however, paying such money wouldn't be wise. I had Cardo SMARTH (bought for £100) and it performed exactly the same.

Great Idea with one MAJOR Flaw
Had three of these units now as a result of ALL of the power/recharge ports disconnecting from the unit. They are simply soldered onto the circuit board directly and supported in no other way! So after a few months of in and out plugging and unplugging of your charger wire the connector simply breaks away from the board. In terms of connectivity and sound the unit is no doubt one of the best on the market and tbh is better than my previous Sent 20s BUT that has been used all three times as a back-up now! Maybe opt for the Bold rather than the Slim and you could avoid this issue - its what I will be doing!

Decepcionante.
Decepcionado con el producto. No cumple con ninguna de sus caracteristicas tecnicas anunciadas, ni tiene 13 horas de autonomia, ni tampoco asegura la comunicacion por DMC a 1 kilometro de distancia. No volvere a comprar otro.

My first comm unit and I lvoe it.
I just invested in my first full face helmet and bought this comm unit to go with it, thanks to a friends advice. I am using it with an Iphone 12 and it works great. I can hear my music very well and clear. I can use siri and Cardo's own voice commands very easily up too 120 kph where then my helmet gets a bit of wind noise. Then it still works half of the time. Those people hear complaining about it being too quiet should check their phones settings first. My iPhone was initially limited so it was too quiet until I fixed that in the settings. Anyway, very happy with this purchase,
J**.
