New to polishing, seeking educated answer. What kind of cloths to use with the solution? And then what kind of cloth to use afterwards for buffing?

You should use a sponge to rub the solution unto the silverware. Let the solution dry on the product a little, and then use old cotton dish clothes, or socks (a fabric that absorbs the solution, and that you don't care to become black) to wipe off the solution and polish the silverware.

What is the difference between the polish and the cream ?

The Silver Polish will leave an anti-tarnish agent behind on the surface. The Silver Cream will not leave an anti-tarnish agent on the surface.

is this safe for sterling silver with gemstones

Accepted Answer

Stones are much harder than silver. Should not hurt them at all. But might be hard getting it from under the stone, get an ultra sonic cleaner for that. Turquoise is different, it could be porous and absorb the polish.

How long does the polish stay? like how long once does this need to be applied to maintain the shine of the silver product? thank you

The length of time that your silver stays tarnish free depends on where you live.  The gases in the air are what causes tarnish.  I grew up in a small Texas town where there is a lot of oil activity, drilling for oil and many completed wells, so the finished wells had gas flares, where they burned off the gas that came out with the oil.  I use my silver for Thanksgivimg and Christmas and had to polish it every year.  I bought some black paper strips that go in with your silver when you store it and they did a fantastic job of preventing my silver from tarnishing.  Any silver polish is good for removing the tarnish but to keep it tarnish free get some of the strips for silver that is stored.  There are some here on Amazon made by 3M.  I have not used this Weimans product but have used their other products and like them very much.  I plan to buy some of this.
