Very easy and you can smooth it out to your new size with very little effort. Personally, we took some out of the Queen size because it was too full. It comes in a nice zippered storage sleeve (which you will no longer need once you open the pillow), and you can just put the extra memory foam in it.It comes flat as a pancake and it takes less than 24 hours to expand to full size. No odors afterwards.Here's why I've docked it a star...Ordered two Queen size pillows. Got 1 Queen and 1 Standard, because the Standard size had an incorrect SKU on it (someone had put the Queen barcode on top of the Standard one - you can see it clearly in the attached picture). So I ordered a replacement, and it was the same thing once again! Not a fluke. Seriously? Either Amazon or the seller messed this inventory up. Amazon was easy to deal with in terms of getting replacements shipped, and I finally got a 2nd Queen pillow on my third try. It was soft but had great support. I really recommend these pillows. The customer service is great too. I had bought two of them and one turn out amazing while the other wasn't as full and wasn't as soft. So I contacted seller and let them know. After that they sent me a replacement free of charge. I looked at reviews on many pillows, ones more expensive than this pillow and when i went to fakespot dot com i saw that most if the reviews were fake. This pillow recieved an A for reviews which is why i decided to try it even though i was hesitant since it is a lot cgeaoer than most orthopedic pillows. I have spent hundreds of dollars on pillows, trying to find one that does not cause my neck to hurt or creates tension in my jaw. I have tmj and 2 years ago injured my neck which has made it difficult to find a pillow that is comfortable yet keeps my neck in alignment. A few months ago I decided to buy a very expensive orthopedic pillow which for some seemed to help, for me I'd wake up every morning with pain in my neck, shoulders and jaw. I wear a mouth guard at night but the pillow made me clench more at night. This pillow is great because you can add the amount of shredded foam you need. I took out enough to fill the zip bag it came with and it works great.
