Anytime he starts to get fussy, all be has to do is see this blanket and he calms right down. It is very soft so he rubs the blanket on his face and the silky edges in his hands. I think that the key to maintaining the softness is (as it states on the tag) not putting it into the dryer to dry. I lay it flat to dry then put it in the dryer on air dry for about 5 minutes to fluff it up a bit. He just turned 6 months and this blanket is not as worn as I had expected it to be by now. I just bought him another one just to have an extra while washing one. I feel that it's a good size. I attached pictures to show that it's the perfect size for his portable crib/ pack and play.
