Inuyasha Season 1 (Rpkg) Kagome Higurashi, an average ninth grader, gets pulled into an ancient well by a demon, bringing her 500 years in the past to the feudal era. There, she meets Inuyasha, a half-demon who seeks the Shikon Jewel to make himself a full-fledged demon. With Inuyasha and new friends, Kagome's search for the Jewel of Four Souls begins... Review: Great Series - I watched InuYasha as a young teenager, and I remember loving it. So when my fiance talked about wanting to get my stepson into shows that are more age-appropriate (as opposed to shows that are far too young for him), this one sprang to mind. I ordered this for his twelfth birthday last month, and sure enough, he loves it! We're watching it together, and I'm just as amused by it as I was when I was young, too. He isn't the least put off by having a female main character (I'd worried he would dismiss the show because it's mainly focused on Kagome at first), and in fact seems to really enjoy Kagome's character in and of herself as well as her interactions with InuYasha. He really identifies with InuYasha's quest to become stronger, his struggles with fitting in, and the dichotomy between the character's crude, temperamental mannerisms and the gradual softening of his heart as he exposes his vulnerable and protective heart. My stepson is also loving the mixture of drama, action, a little romance, and lots of anime comic relief. We aren't even very far in-- episode 10 or so-- so I can't wait to see how excited he gets when other characters start showing up and the real plot twists start coming. As it was, he's already loving Sesshaumaru's aloofness, Miyoga's cowardice, Kaede's sarcasm, and Shippo's playfulness. A note to parents: You do want to watch out if your child is on the more innocent side, because the character Miroku is pretty perverted. I don't worry about this with my stepson (he's allowed to watch Family Guy and South Park, so he's pretty much seen everything there is to see in that department), and the material is pretty mild. But if your child is on the younger side (I'd say anything below middle school) or hasn't had any exposure to mild sexual humor, you may want to take a glance through the series yourself to determine if it's appropriate. Miroku does, on occasion, grope ladies' posteriors, and greets just about every woman he meets by asking her to bear his children. There's a plot reason for this, it's done very comically, and he frequently gets a resounding slap for his overtures, but still, if that's not your thing, proceed with caution. Otherwise, absolutely a fantastic series! I can't wait to buy season 2! Review: Absolutely Love InuYasha! - InuYasha is such an amazing anime. I'm a Cosplayer and Cosplay Naraku, the compassionless half demon that won't admit he's only a half demon. My best friend had shown me InuYasha roughly 11 years ago. I hadn't paid much mind to it until I really started watching it for myself. The characters develop so much with each episode. Season one has a lot of the base story. There's the introduction of Kagome and her first meeting with InuYasha and Lady Kyaiday (sp?). In the first season you'll probably see InuYasha as an ass who only cares about himself and having the Shikon Jewel to become a full demon. Don't let this fool you. He really does have a kind and caring heart behind his ass attitude. If you love things about demons and magic, then I suggest watching InuYasha. One the note about everyone commenting about "slimmer cases" for this "repackage" of the series, I personally love the idea of a slimmer case. I have the regular cases for what I have already for the series and they take up so much room. These new cases will really clear up some space where my Anime DVDs sit. Also, you don't have to ask what language it's available in as it's listed in the specifics area in the listed product page. It's in both English and Japanese with the option of English subtitles.

Great Price on a Great Show
Great price for an entire season of such a good show! I remember when the series was coming out, my friend would have her uncle buy her the box sets for around $100. They were nice sets, don't get me wrong, but this is much more affordable for me. I bought a few of the individual DVDs when they came out, and spent the same price per each disc of 3 episodes as you get for this entire season. The first season is very strong, and I'm enjoying finally being able to watch it again as an entire season (because lets face it, I was never going to watch them aired on Adult Swim at 5 o'clock in the morning).

A War between good and evil begins.
A classic anime from my childhood, I grew up watching this show. Along with FLCL, Naruto and Cowboy Bebop were my first introduction to anime. And i have a pretty large collection of anime that I'm glad to add this series to it. A large cast of characters from the stubborn titular inuyasha, the good hearted Kagome to the Anti-Hero Sesshomaru and the diabolical Naraku. I can't wait to get the rest of the seasons of the show.

I saved and I'm happy!
I have loved this show as a kid. Came in today's in accordance with prime, and in perfect condition. I started watching this the other day and plan to watch the whole thing with a friend later during the week. Yes it's in English( which was my concern although I love learning new languages) and I'm pretty sure it had more language options.. don't remember. This dvd is legit. If you want it then get it! I saw a price in my local Mckays and the price did not compare to Amazon's. I saved and I'm happy!

The Nostalgic Feels
Probably the first anime I had ever stumbled upon all those years ago. Can't say enough great things about InuYasha. I have been wanting to own the collection for years, but couldn't afford to. These repackages are literally the same products and episodes, just condensed in terms of packaging and price. Standard definition - so 4:3 ratio and obvious static and other SD flaws, but that's cool. I don't expect a blu-ray version any time soon, and there isn't much you can do when upconverting an original SD work; though I do see a BD of the final act and the movies, that is probably as far as it goes. Japanese Audio with English subs is indeed available on these discs. Worth every penny.

This is my review from TV.com
I love this anime. The only reason I no longer watch it on Adult Swim is because I am unable to stay up long enough to watch it and I drink an entire pot of coffee on Saturdays. The animation is superb, it has a great story of love, reincarnation, magic, and fantasy. The villain is almost pure evil, yet also complex and tragic. Character development is done very well. Fight sequences are awesome, especially once Inuyasha unlocks a new power for Tetsuiga.

Review for: Inuyasha Season 1 Repackage
This is a review of the DVD set and presentation, NOT of the show itself. Language: This set is dual audio (English and Japanese) with English subtitles for the Japanese track, however, it only has the one subtitle track, and no slates and signs track to accompany the English audio (it is also worth noting the subtitle track for the Japanese audio doesn't translate signs either, at least in the first few episodes I've seen so far). This set is uncut and unedited. Presentation: The video quality looks like they just took the resources they had and just slapped them on a DVD without any sort of remastering. While there is nothing inherently wrong with it, it just looks old. Just don't expect the quality of other releases that have been digitally remastered (although some people prefer untouched video presentation). The audio for both languages is in Dolby Digital 2.0. Packaging: This set contains five DVDs in a standard size DVD case. The casing is decent quality and not thin and flimsy, picking it up feels a bit heavy (for a DVD case). It does its job well. No slip cover was included. Extras: Nothing worth much here, aside from the typical clean opening and closing, there is a trailer for the first movie and a super basic character relationship chart which is a slide show showing two characters and a super basic summary of their relationship. Bottom Line: I give this set a 4 out of 5. While not on par with releases of other, more popular animes, if you enjoy this show and want to own it on DVD, this is not a bad set to own. While it is very basic there really isn't anything bad about it either. My only complaint is the lack of sign translations (which isn't a huge deal).
