## Description

Whatever your task at hand whether it's launching that boat before daybreak, setting up your camper before the rush or getting a final load to the dump before close CURT class 3 trailer hitches offer the strength needed for serious towing. They make it easy to hitch up and Bring It, offering a vehicle-specific fit and the weight capacity to handle a variety of trailers. Custom class 3 hitches are the most common type of receiver hitch for pickup trucks and SUVs. Because of their weight range, they are also found on full-size cars, crossovers and minivans. Each custom-fit class 3 hitch package is made for vehicle-specific mounting. This particular kit fits certain years of the Mazda CX-9 (see application info to verify vehicle compatibility). It provides a weight carrying capacity of 4,000 lbs. GTW and 400 lbs. TW. CURT class 3 trailer hitches are typically used to attach and haul utility trailers, boat trailers, campers, snowmobile or ATV haulers and more (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Each class 3 hitch has a 2" receiver tube and is tested in accordance with SAE J684 for safety. To ensure that CURT class 3 receiver hitches have what it takes for serious trailering, they are designed using a hands-on approach and are constructed with rugged, high-strength steel and precise welding. We also protect our class 3 hitches in a co-cured finish of liquid Bonderite and black powder coat for superior resistance to rust, chipping and UV damage.YEAR MAKE MODEL STYLE 2010 Kia Sedona Short Wheel Base (114 In.)2009 Kia Sedona Short Wheel Base (114 In.)2008 Kia Sedona Short Wheel Base (114 In.)2007 Kia Sedona Short Wheel Base (114 In.)

Review: Perfect Fit / Excellent Hitch - This CURT 13575 Class 3 Trailer Hitch was easy to install and the bolt holes matched perfectly with the manufactures threads on the Mazda CX-9 body. It appears to be of very good quality and very sturdy - It looks like a factory hitch with only the bar around the hitch receiver showing. The rest of the hitch is tucked up under the rear bumper cover making is look like a factory install. I'd recommend this hitch to anyone.
Review: Attractive and perfectly fitting hitch for 2011 CX-9 - Perfect fit, took 45 minutes to install on my 2011 CX-9 by myself. This time included jacking it up, removing the spare, putting it back, and jacking it back down. Actual install time about 20 minutes. Once jacked up I laid down, lifted it into place, and set the bolts. Because of the mufflers and heat shields, it has to be lined up vertically (hitch opening pointing down, and rotated into position as it's lifted up. This is why you HAVE TO jack up the car, there isn't enough clearance to do this otherwise. Watch the heat shields, the edges are very sharp. It was a nice tight fit for me, so once it was in place I was able to take one hand off and thread the bolts in. Once I had one bolt in each side, I knew it wasn't going to drop on me. As with anything with multiple bolts, thread each one in only about 1/3. This gives you some wiggle room to make sure they all line up. I used a rubber mallet to adjust it a little to get them all in. Once all are in, tighten finger tight and use a box wrench to torque them down. I used 3/4" and 1/2" wrenches. I didn't bother with a socket wrench. It isn't obvious in the picture, but the crossbar is not square, but flatter, helping it keep a lower profile. It hides very nicely under the bumper, only about 1/3 of the center section extends below. As others have mentioned, packaging was worthless, but this was Curt, not desertcart. It arrived in a Curt retail box which was too thin and the hitch was loose in the box. OK for buying it in a store, but not OK for shipping. It broke through the box, but powder coat was not damaged, so I let it be.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: This is for a cx9 mazda 2013?**
A: This was a perfect fit on my 2011. Can be done alone, but it helps to have a jack stand to sit onside on while you handle the other side. Or, in my case, use your 9 year old son to hold up one side and listen to him complain the whole time!

**Q: Does it come with the pin and clip or do I have to buy them separately? Thanks.**
A: THis only comes with the hitch receiver and bolts to mount to the vehicle. The hitch pin comes with the bar and ball assembly that is seperate for around $20

**Q: Does this fit the 2020 Mazda CX-9?**
A: No, Curt currently does not have a part # for your 2020 CX-9. Nothing is in production yet.

**Q: Does this fit a 2019 cx9**
A: It does not fit 2017 so it won't fit 2019.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ almost perfect.

Able to get it installed by following some of the advice of previous comments. Definitely have to do the tilt "front" to the ground technique. But even after doing this, the hitch still bent the muffler shields. It didn't worry me since it was easy enough to bend back. I was able to complete it by myself in about 45 mins. Able to push it into place, held one side with my leg and screwed in the first bolt onto the other side. After putting the first bolt, I only had to hold up the side without a bolt until I was able to get one in to get at least one bolt in each side. Most of the time was just trying to get the holes to align so I could get the bolts to screw into the frame. Had to use a rubber coated mallet to pound it into place. But even with all of the pounding and adjusting, I couldn't get 1 of the 2 smaller bolts installed ( set came with 6 large bolts 2 smaller bolts and 8 washers). I'll be using the receiver basically for a bike hitch rack and not for pulling any loads, so it should be ok. Just wish I could have gotten all of the bolts on....I might try to drill out or Dremel out the the hole on the receiver later on when I have more time to do it. I found it easier to lower the spare tire out of the way to get more room to use my socket wrench. Tried to use a regular wrench but the muffler heat shields tended to get into the way. The socket wrench made it easier and faster to get the bolts in ..It took less then 7 mins to tighten the bolts once they were set...
