The barrier is a little wobbly when uninstalled, but once in and secured it is pretty solid for being plastic. I suppose if you had a big dog who bashed into it a bunch it may be able to be knocked down/ broke. We have a large dog who uses it fine without any issues. Very happy with this barrier and would definitely buy again. Also the feet are nice and wide and do not damage anything (Subaru Outback) as other reviews had mentioned. The bars slid up and down on one side after assembly (yes, I followed the directions exactly). WeatherTech sent us a replacement and the replacement works great. It was well worth the investment for transporting our large breed puppy. We have replaced the front leather seat and consolid Multiple times. I've tried different things to keep her in the back to avail... after purchasing and installing the weather tech pet barrier It seemed to work At least for a day or two... she found out she could crawl between the console and the bottom of the pet barrier... i wound up putting a blockade underneath of it as it does not have enough adjustment parts to completely block from top to bottom... once I did that, she remains in the back safe and secure... she does poke her head through for some love... anyway, it is keeping her safe. Me safe and avoiding costly repairs to the upholstery.
