Intel D3-S4510 240 GB 2.5" Internal Solid State Drive - SATA

Downloaded the transfer software from Intel to transfer a drive, super easy!

Order two drives and both were out of warranty. Both drives were flagged as bad in CrystalDiskInfo with the "Data Loss Prevention" field flagged. Buyers beware!

A bit pricey these days for it's size, but there is one feature of this SSD vs others that was of particular interest is that it has Power Loss Protection. PLP (on a basic level) basically means if something happens between the time the disk receives the data from the OS and it's actually committed to flash, it stays in a capacitor-backed DRAM; which under most circumstances won't matter to most people...but in a data center this how data stays consistent through a failure; or, if you're using a ZFS File system and want to use an SSD as a ZIL...if that makes sense to you, then this disk's slightly more expensive cost would make sense for you!

I received the drive today and immediately checked the stats, all of new indicate that it is a newer drive (1 hour of use which is common for testing, etc. However, physical indications are that is is used, including scratches and discoloration. I also checked Intel's Warranty site and it is, of course, discontinued since it was from August 16, 2018. It is clear, from the physical condition and like-new stats, that this drive was refurbished or the stats altered in some way.

Great SSD it is in this computer know as I write this review, all Intel products are GREAT no problems no excessive heat no problems installs easy.

This is a fast and great SSD. A great value too.

On the product page it says that the product is new. As the SSDs are more, I can see that they are already very used. 1 doesn't work, 1 says it hasn't been used for more than 15k hours. I'm feeling cheated. I bought 5 SSDs. 2 of them don't work, they're just dead. I contacted the sellers and they apparently know that the disks are used, but they're selling them as new. This is disrespectful to the consumer.

Ordered 2 of these drives in the last six months. Packing was not regular Intel Boxes. Both failed.

Ich betreibe die Intel D3-S4510 in einem Verbund (RAID 1) und rechne damit, dass sie durch ihren RAID Verbund mehrere Jahre "auf dem Buckel" haben wird. Bisher verrichtet sie ihre Arbeit klaglos!

Die SSD läuft in einem Raid-1 Verbund in einem Server der leider durch eine schlecht programmierte Anwendung eine hohe Schreib-Last erzeugt. In 2 Monaten kamen so schon 3TB an Schreibzugriffen und 4TB an Lesezugriffen zustande. Das entspricht 95 GByte an geschriebenen Daten pro Tag und 134GB an gelesenen Daten pro Tag. Die Lebensdauer ist mit 900TBW angegeben. Unter unserer speziellen Umständen sollte die Festplatte also theoretisch 50 Jahre halten.
