I was a little concerned because the price of these was lowest. But, no, this is a "lifetime" tool. One reason is that it is well made with 100% steel moving parts but also because this kind of crimpper does not use much force. Ferrules are not mashed-on gas tight as are other crimped parts. So only a light-duty squeeze is enough. Ferrules are designed so that the "real" pressure is applied by the screw in the terminal, not by the hand tool. So the tool. has to squeeze the ferrule only tight enough that it will not by easily pulled off, then yhe screw on the device you are wirring up makes a dimple in the ferrule and the connection is MUCH more solid then if you have simply twisted the wire and stuffed it into the hole. The tool is "lifetime" but do buy more Ferrules at the kit only comes with a few dozen of each size and you will need hundreds if you do this kind of work very much (every wire needs a ferrule on each end, so it adds up quickly

The fittings and this crimp tool are the only way to go when wires are to be fastened with set screws! A friend showed this to me nd I'm glad I purchased one for myself. Works great!

I spent last night I spent last night going through my kit built 3D printers adding these ferrules to all the screw terminals on the main control board. On the 10 ga wires, crimped ferrules left them slightly too wide to get into the terminal to be clamped, so I had to squish them just a touch with my Knipex pliers wrench to get them to fit in there. I got the crimper that leaves square ferrules because my use will entirely be with screw clamp terminals. The connections are now incredibly solid and I no longer have concerns about the wiring popping loose and causing issues. I had to increase the tension in order to get a crimp that I felt was satisfactory on the bigger ferrules. Even with the lighter setting the crimps felt very solid, but I am a proponent of going overkill when doing anything. Hence my use of massively thick wiring to power my 3D printer and it’s heated bed. The crimper still works great on the smaller ferrules with more tension. Once you install the crimped ferruled wires in the terminals, you get the satisfaction of tugging on the wiring and saying the age old utterance all adult males live to say “That’s not going anywhere”.

The tool is excellent. I have both the 4 sided and the 6 sided versions. I use them for work. I am an electronics technician. But the ferrules are hot garbage. Too thin and the slightest stress and they break apart. Tool is adjusted as loose as it goes and it’s still either over crimping or the ferrules are just junk. These have caused me a LOT of grief at work, with machines going offline due to broken wires.

crimpers are nice and work as they should. set works great for the wire sizes it indicates its for. Made making my connections easier at it should. if you work with smaller size wiring this thing is a nice addition.

Bought this on a whim, finally got to try it, replacing plugs on an extension cord. Extension cords are multi-strand cables, and getting them neatly into the receptacle can be frustrating. Crimping the ferrules is easy and inserting the ferrules into the fittings makes for a neat and electrically sound connection. Nice job.

Beat ferrule crimper I've used. Cheapest too! Perfect crimps every time, good retention, auto adjusting, nice ferrules. Bump the crimp tension up a bit from the stock setting. The square crimped ferrule shape means you can get slighlty larger wire guages into the same size screw terminal blocks, which is what I generally use this for. Highly recommended. I have a couple other iwiss tools, and they are all great or good. The EDM Cut, parallel jaw jst crimper is stellar too.

Was able to obtain these during Prime Day and therefore got them at a discount. I've been using ferrules for a year or so when dealing with car audio installation. Specifically for amps connections and battery terminal connections. I've been eyeing these for awhile, but never took the plunge. And well...they are definitely well worth it. Gives it a nice clean look...plus they secured. Just wish they made these for larger gauge ferrules.

It crimps very effectively. The ratcheting mechanism could be better.

Excellent kit for the money. Has a good assortment of sizes.
